For die-casting plants, in the production process of die-casting parts, die-casting parts are prone to defects. Some blemishes are invisible to the naked eye. Therefore, other flaw detection methods need for testing. Then let's take a look at the commonly used flaw detection methods.
Radiographic inspection of the die casting factory is a method of detecting defects by using the penetrability and linearity of radiation. Although the light cannot observe by the naked eye, it can be made into a photosensitive negative film and received by a specials receiver.
The radiographic flaw detection method is suitable for volume defects, not for surface defects, so this method has limitations.
The industry is using multi-MHz flaw detection methods. The ultrasonic frequency is high & the transmission linearity is strong. It is easy to transmit in a solid, reflect and transmit between two media. This method can use for flaw detection.
For die casting components with smooth surfaces, this method can use for flaw detection. When the fluorescent liquid enters the gap of the die-casting part, it rises to the outer surface of the fluid through the capillary phenomenon. Therefore, it will fluoresce under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. It can better show the shape of the defects exposed on the die casting.
