Here EMP will introduce the production and operation methods and maintenance measures of aluminum die-casting molds.
Before producing aluminum die-casting molds, the operator must first determine the injection speed of the mold. If the speed is too fast, it will cause mold corrosion and increase deposits on the cavity and core. If the injection speed is too slow, it is easy to cause casting defects. Therefore, the minimum injection speed of the aluminum die-casting mold is 18m/s, the maximum injection speed should not exceed 53m/s, and the average injection speed is 43m/s. In addition, when using the mold, the casting process should be strictly controlled, the casting temperature and injection speed should be reduced within the permitted range, and the preheating temperature of the mold should be increased. Try to increase the preheating temperature of the aluminum die-casting mold from 100-130 ℃ to 180-200 ℃, this operation can greatly improve the service life of the mold. Operators should also avoid operating errors and improper adjustments when producing aluminum die-casting molds.
1. Remove the deposits in the mold cavity in time
After the mold is used for a period of time, there will be deposits on the cavity and core. These deposits are formed by the impurities of the coolant and a small amount of die-casting metal. The texture is hard and the adsorption is strong, which is difficult to remove. Operators can use abrasive or mechanical methods to remove deposits without damaging the dimensions of the mold surface.
2. Regular maintenance of aluminum die-casting molds
After testing the performance of the new mold, when the mold has not cooled to room temperature, please remove the stress and temper in time. When the mold number of the aluminum die-casting mold is 100,000, the mold cavity and mold base should be tempered at a temperature of 450-480 ° C, and the cavity should be polished and chlorinated to eliminate internal stress and micro cracks on the surface of the cavity. The maintenance process can reduce the cracking caused by thermal stress and effectively improve the life of the mold and the quality of the product.
3. Repair mold defects in time
In the case of severe corrosion and cracking, nitriding can be performed on the surface of the mold to improve the hardness and wear resistance of the mold surface. When nitriding treatment, pay attention to the bonding firmness of the matrix and the nitriding layer, and the thickness should not exceed 0.15mm. If the nitrided layer is too thick, it is easy to fall off at the parting surface and sharp corners. In addition, the welding method can also be used to repair the surface defects of the mold. During the welding process, the operator needs to pay attention to the matching of the electrode and the weldment and the surface cleanliness of the electrode.
Only correct mold production methods and maintenance methods can give full play to the good performance of molds and effectively improve the quality and service life of aluminum die-casting molds.
